Ordinary stopping is the whole thesis. Not five ways that bounce you back as a product. Not a crash I diagnose from a paragraph. Not a clinic for a week that will not lift.

The live title sold five ways to start bouncing back if you’re burned out. I will not keep five as a rank. I will not keep bounce-back as a guarantee. I will keep four weekday notes about how those slogans actually behave at a desk.

Two cousins already hold a different job. This URL does not clone either. Ordinary kinds of stopping — the rest ladder I already declined as a prescription: 7 types of rest everyone needs. Ordinary weekday care — not a clinic and not a reward: Adding self care to your routine how and why do it. Use this permalink when the search was five ways to bounce back from burnout.

I write as a public educator. Take one practice into the week, or none, and leave. If you wanted a coach, a bounce-back programme, a cleanse certificate, or a promise that five ways treat a diagnosis, this is the wrong door — on purpose. New here? Start here. Who I am: About. Daily noticing: Wellness.

This page is not a rival ladder. Canon is nine movements on a spiral: The 9 stages of spiritual self realization. A quieter Tuesday is texture, not a tenth stage you fail.

This is not a bounce-back guarantee. Exhaustion has weather. Some weather needs a clinician. If burnout is a crisis — a mood that will not lift, a body that is not safe, a mind that is planning harm — stop. That is a clinician. In a crisis, local emergency services, not this inbox. The rule sits on Disclaimer.

Four notes, not five as a guarantee

You do not need all four. Number one is not holier than number four. Pick the slogan that is loud this Tuesday.

  1. A smaller morning
  2. Company that does not drain the hour
  3. A little outside
  4. Kindness toward the body already here

1. A smaller morning

The live first way sold a protective mindset as armour: stay in control when events seem uncontrollable; a five-minute morning ritual; three minutes picturing the life you want as if it already exists; say “this — or something even better — is my life”; two minutes to deactivate a stress button; shaking the tree as a named Qigong jump; tapping a point below the collarbone.

I dropped armour as a product. I dropped the picture-it-as-if-it-exists spell. I dropped Qigong and the collarbone point as protocols I deliver. Named traditions have their own teachers. I do not take you as a Qigong client, and I do not install a morning that must produce bounce-back.

I will keep a smaller sentence: a morning you actually mean is allowed. “I will sit for three minutes after the kettle” is a Tuesday. “I have decided to fill myself with positive energy” is a poster. A short try that happens still counts more than a ritual that never leaves the chair.

The numbered drills, if you wanted a minute: 12 mindfulness exercises to start using daily. What you may take: one unimproved minute at the start of the day. Not armour. Not a mood you must produce by breakfast.

2. Company that does not drain the hour

The live second way sold the average of the five people closest to you: toxic people drain a battery until you are in deficit; well-intentioned people re-energise you; have an inner doorman; be friendly with everyone, friends only with people who embrace who you are.

I dropped the five-person average as a law. I dropped toxic as a dunk. I dropped inner-doorman as a protocol. I will keep: one hour with company that does not empty you is allowed.

You do not owe this page a purge of everyone who is difficult. Care for an ageing parent can exhaust a week without anyone being a villain. A colleague who is loud is still a colleague. Manners toward your own hour can mean a shorter call, a walk after the meeting, a no that is one sentence. It is not a verdict on a person’s soul.

What you may take: one next hour with people you already have, named honestly. Not a circle I curate. Not a battery I recharge from a library.

3. A little outside

The live third way sold sunlight as food: vitamin D, nitric oxide, blood flow, immune system, a signalling molecule for the brain; a few minutes without sunscreen; forest bathing as a mood treatment; a container garden on a balcony if that is what you have.

I dropped the lab sentences. I did not sit with those papers as a reviewer. Sun has clinicians when skin or mood is a medical question. I will not sort vitamin D from a paragraph. I dropped unsunscreened minutes as a protocol. I dropped forest bathing as a treatment this URL delivers.

I will keep: a little time outside is allowed. A chair by a window still counts. A balcony still counts. A walk around the block still counts. You do not need a forest as a prescription.

A little time outside already has its own page: How time in nature can revitalize your body and restore your soul. What you may take: one unimproved minute of air. Not a sun protocol. Not a mood you must produce at the end of it.

4. Kindness toward the body already here

The live fourth way sold touch as medicine: receptors, blood pressure, cortisol, oxytocin, hugs and kisses, a regular massage, dry brushing from head to toe. The fifth stacked a cleanse: a named book, bone broth, collagen, amino acids, an extracellular matrix that goes from river to swamp, fairy-dust foods, then a sixth note on unresolved grief and being kind because you deserve it.

I dropped the hormone ledger. I dropped dry brushing as a protocol. I dropped the named cleanse and the book as a product rec. I dropped swamp-as-science. I dropped grief as the hidden cause of burnout. Illness, hormones, and grief have clinicians. I will not sort them from a paragraph.

I will keep two smaller sentences. Kindness toward the body already here is allowed — water, a meal you actually eat, a walk that is not a punishment, sleep when the hour allows it. Food stays in its lane. A plate of plants and ordinary protein is a Tuesday, not fairy dust. Then courtesy toward the person already in the chair: one kind sentence is manners, not a self-love certificate that bounces you back.

Self-compassion as courtesy, not a right way: What it means to be self compassionate and how to do it right. What you may take: one kind act toward the body you already have. Not a cleanse. Not a bounce-back I guarantee.

How little is enough

Pick one. One smaller morning. One hour of company that does not drain. One unimproved minute of air. One kind act toward the body already here. Not five as a rank. Not bouncing back as a guarantee. Not a clinic.

Burnout is not a product I reverse from a library. I do not take 1:1 clients. There is no call to book. Leave with one practice, or with the Tuesday you already had.
