People type “choosing your vibration” into a search box and hope for a Hertz chart: which mood hums higher, which room will drag you down, which thought is a radio you can tune. I will not give you that chart.
On this site, vibration is a metaphor for the company of your attention — what you sit with, who you sit with, and whether you notice the sitting. It is not physics. A mood is not a frequency you measure. A neighbour is not a transmitter. The kindness is still real: you can choose, some hours, where the next hour goes.
The kitchen already uses the same metaphor for a plate: freshness and colour, not a voltage in a tomato. 8 high vibration foods to improve your health and raise your vibration. How you eat: How to make sure youre eating high vibrational food. This URL is the weekday version for minds and company, not groceries.
I write as a public educator. Take one noticing practice into the week and leave. If you wanted a frequency protocol, a law-of-attraction coach, or a claim that a low mood lined you up with a loved one’s illness, this is the wrong door — on purpose. New here? Start here. Who I am: About. Daily practices: Wellness. Inner maps: Metaphysics.
Not a radio. Not a law.
The live archive treated vibration as a scale with love at the top, then said like attracts like as a universal law. I declined that gospel already: Does the law of attraction actually work. Five notes on attention and company, not a magnet: 5 reasons you attract what you are.
What I will keep is smaller. You notice what you look at. You spend hours with some people, some feeds, some inner speeches, and not others. A grey morning can snowball if you keep feeding it the same scene. A kinder hour can also snowball if you give it a walk, a cup, a person who is actually here. That is a Tuesday, not a vending machine.
I will not tell you that gratitude is a Hertz setting, or that waking anxious “pulls in” a relative’s health scare. Illness belongs with a clinician. More on Disclaimer.
Hardship is real. Trauma is real. Annoyance is real. You do not have to “raise a vibration” over grief in order to be allowed to feel it. Feeling is not a frequency crime.
You are not the thought
A useful sentence from the old post, said without the magnet: you are not identical with every thought that walks through. You can watch the radio. You do not have to become the station.
That is a noticing skill, not a personality upgrade. The gap between the first thought and the next act: Why mindfulness is important to your mental health. The numbered minutes live in the twelve drills: Twelve mindfulness drills you can start today.
When the mind runs, see that. Come back to the next sip, the sole of the foot, the next honest sentence. You do not have to replace the thought with a slogan. Seeing it is already a choice of company. I dropped chakra-balancing as energy-clearing homework. This URL does not need a second map of centres.
Company, including the screen
“Choosing your vibration” is often a polite way of saying: notice who and what you sit with.
A room that only rehearses complaint will rehearse complaint. A feed that only sells panic will sell panic. A person who only wants you as an audience for their weather will keep using you as weather. None of that is a moral rank of the people involved. It is a volume knob. You may turn it. You may also stay, on purpose, with someone who is having a hard week. Staying is not a frequency drop. It is loyalty. The skill is knowing which is which.
If you are an unusually absorbent person — the old post said empath — you may pick up a room. Fine. That is a human observation. It is not a diagnosis, and it is not a licence to call every unexplained mood “someone else’s energy.” Trace the afternoon: sleep, food, a snub at 10:00, a headline. Ordinary causes first. If the fog is larger than a grey week, that is a clinician, not a vibration audit.
You can choose a walk instead of a third loop of the same argument. You can choose a person who tells the truth kindly. You can choose the kettle instead of the inbox for one minute. That is choosing company. I will not dress it as a planetary shift in consciousness you owe the species.
Feeling bad is allowed to pass through
The live post was closer to honesty here than in its law: do not shove a feeling in a drawer and call that high-vibe. Name it. Let it move. Then put attention where you actually want it.
All states are weather. What you wrestle with in secret often gets louder. What you look at without a trial often has less to prove. That is manners with your own day, not a technique for staying at the top of a scale.
Gratitude, if you use it, is noticing what is here — the tap, the first sip — not a frequency pump. If a mood is a crisis, leave the metaphor. Get practical help. I am not a clinic.
One choice this week
Pick one. Not a new identity. Not a week of only high thoughts.
Name the company of one hour: the feed, the conversation, the inner speech. Choose the next hour on purpose — a walk, a quieter room, a person who is actually kind, a plate you sit with. Or choose to stay with a hard feeling for ten honest minutes without making it a project.
You do not need all of the above. You do not need to keep a vibration high for humankind. You need one smaller sitting.
I do not take 1:1 clients. There is no call to book. Leave with one hour’s company, or with the decision to get real help instead of a blog.
