Taoism is a named East Asian tradition with its own texts, teachers, and rooms. I name it with respect. I do not deliver it as a school I run, a happiness kit, or a medical system.
The live title promised three treasures that lead to a happy life. I will not keep that as a result I can issue. Simplicity, patience, and compassion are weekday practices some readers already know by other names. They are not a certificate. They are not a mood treatment. A hard month is allowed to stay a hard month.
The live post already said these three are not jing, qi, and shen. I will keep that distinction. Those words belong on a map of seasonal and body-attention ideas — not as a treatment I deliver, and not as energy physics I sell: Lessons ancient chinese medicine can teach us about treating our bodies. You do not need both URLs. You do not need either.
I write as a public educator. Take one named practice into the week, or none, and leave. If you wanted a sage, a lineage, a Law of Attraction, an inner-GPS sit, or a promise that compassion enlightens you, this is the wrong door — on purpose. New here? Start here. Who I am: About. Daily practices: Wellness. Inner maps: Metaphysics. Three named maps of care — not a clinic I run: Allopathy homeopathy and ayurveda a comparison.
If a feeling is larger than a rough week, stop. Get help that is allowed to help. In a crisis, local emergency services, not this inbox.
A named teaching, not my translation dump
People often point at a short passage in the Tao Te Ching — the book associated with Laozi — where three things are held up: simplicity (or frugality), patience (or not daring to be first), and compassion. Translators disagree on the exact English. I will not paste a copyrighted English packaging as if it were mine. I will not wear Stephen Mitchell, or any other popular English, as Gary’s scripture.
What you may take, as education: three ordinary words from a named tradition. Simple in what you add to the Tuesday. Patient with a pace you do not control. Compassionate toward the person in your own chair first, then toward the room. That is a sketch. It is not the tradition. I am not a Taoist priest.
This page is not a rival ladder to the map this library actually uses. Canon is nine movements on a spiral: The 9 stages of spiritual self realization. A treasure is a sketch. Nine is the working map. You do not have to pick a number. You do not have to pick this word at all.
- Simplicity — fewer extras, not a personality wipe
- Patience — the pace you do not own
- Compassion — the person in your chair first
You do not need all three. You do not need Chinese to notice you added too much to the list.
1. Simplicity — fewer extras, not a personality wipe
The live post asked whether you have a busy mind, then offered silence, fewer words, and a gamified to-do list as the return to a true Self-realized nature. I will keep a smaller thing. Look at the list. Remove one item that is only theatre. Do the next real job while you are in it.
Silence is allowed. So is an ordinary sentence. I will not tell you to stop filling “awkward silence” as a spiritual rule. Some rooms need a kind word. Some lists need a cut. You already know which Tuesday you are in.
I will not tell you that simplifying sheds shame, fear, anger, and hatred until Reality appears. Those feelings, if they are larger than weather, belong with someone allowed to help. A shorter list is not a cleanse. Named meditation methods, if you wanted a sit without a Taoist enrolment: 6 meditation methods never to overlook your brain will thank you. Twelve weekday drills: Twelve mindfulness drills you can start today.
What you may take: one fewer extra. One job, finished. Then a rest that is actually a rest.
2. Patience — the pace you do not own
Nature is not in a hurry. That observation is older than this blog and does not need a personal brand. A queue, a delayed email, a child who will not put on shoes — those are paces you do not own.
The live archive turned impatience into an ego that cannot trust the unknown, then offered a ten-minute sit to activate an internal GPS so the higher Self could steer, and so the Law of Attraction could be wielded. I will drop the GPS, the higher Self as a product, and the law. Attention and practice are already a page, and they are not a prosperity law: Does the law of attraction actually work.
What you may take: when you notice the rush, one slower breath. Then the next small true thing. Two minutes is a real sit. Ten is not a requirement. You do not need to surrender to the universe as a homework.
I will not tell you the ego is a defence mechanism that distracts you from soul consciousness. That sermon lived on the live post. A rushed Tuesday is often just a rushed Tuesday.
3. Compassion — the person in your chair first
Compassion for the person you are being, then for the room, is a weekday skill. It is not a proof that everyone is inherently perfect, and it is not a reason to skip a boundary. Kindness as a practice already has a page: Performing acts of kindness can boost both physical health and happiness levels study finds. Self-kindness, nine ordinary moves: 9 ways to show yourself more kindness.
I dropped the live post’s 3D-reality suffering, the Web of Life as a universal law I teach, the Source spark, and “the more compassionate you are to enemies, the more enlightened you become.” Enlightenment is not a certificate this URL issues. Harm is real. Compassion is not a requirement to stay in an unsafe room. I will not tell you nobody is evil no matter what they have done. That is not a safety rule I will write.
What you may take: one ordinary kindness toward the person in your own chair — water, a walk, a sentence that is not a dare — then, if it is safe, one small courtesy in the room. You do not owe this page a cosmic lens.
Nonduality as a map, not a school, if you wanted a different named word later: How to implement non duality in your life. You do not need it for a kind Tuesday.
How little is enough
Pick one. Cut one extra from the list. Take one slower breath in a queue. Send yourself one plain kindness. Not three as a happiness syllabus. Not a treasure you must collect.
You can keep the faith you have, or none, and still use a simple hour. Taoism is named with respect. I do not enrol you.
I do not take 1:1 clients. There is no call to book. There is no inner GPS. Leave with one named practice, or with the decision to skip.

This page is education, not medical advice, not a diagnosis, and not a treatment plan. I write as Ultimate Wellness, a public educator — not a doctor, not an HPCSA-registered dietitian, and not a therapist. I don’t take 1:1 coaching clients from this library; take one useful idea and use it. If you have a condition, take medication, or need care, please see your own clinician — more on Disclaimer.
